When I registered for this tourney, my rating hadn't leveled out yet -- now my rating would put me in a different category than this one.  Will I automatically switch between rounds?  Should I withdraw?  If I do withdraw, will I be penalized for it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

actually, in the game you´re talking about, according to Fritz 12:

    25.Bc4 Ne2+ 26.Qxe2 Qe3+! and then whatever you do is after 27...Rxc2+ a forced mate in 4

    6k1/1p3ppp/2p5/2q1p1P1/4Pn2/1b1B1P2/r1PQ3P/1NKR4 w - - 0 1

    Analysis by Fritz 12:

    1. -+  (-14.51): 1.c3 Da7 2.Lc4 De3 3.Pa3 Txd2 4.Txd2 De1+ 5.Kb2 Dxd2+ 6.Kxb3 Dd1+ 7.Kb2 Dxf3 8.Pc2 Dxe4 9.Kb3 Ph3 10.Pb4 Pxg5

    2. -+  (-18.76): 1.c4 Dd4 2.Lf1 De3 3.Pa3 Txd2 4.Txd2 De1+ 5.Kb2 Dxd2+ 6.Kxb3 Dd1+ 7.Ka2 Dxf1 8.c5 Df2+ 9.Kb1 Dxf3 10.Ka2 Dc3 11.h4 Dxc5

    3. -+  (-#10): 1.Te1 Pxd3+ 2.Dxd3 Txc2+ 3.Kd1 Tc3+ 4.Ke2 Txd3 5.f4 Dc2+ 6.Kf1 Tf3+ 7.Kg1 Df2+ 8.Kh1 Dxe1+

Starman, yes tourneys with hundreds of participants take quite a while to conclude.

I see the 6th 1801-2000 tournament is still ongoing from March 1, 2009. Do they normally take that long?
