Other than that ALL my oponents made me work hard for my victories from the start. I quickly checked out all the pairings and as early as in Round 2 we would see people in each other's groups who have an unbeaten tournament by that time, so I guess in this tournament you want a perfect score of 10 so you face less people with perfect scores in the next round as opposed to the bigger tournaments where it is unlikely to face someone with the same stats as early as the second round. Good luck everyone. I thought round 1 was really tough, but I guess I haven't seen anyting yet.

This is quite a competitive tournament. Not everyone know this opening, so you really need to consentrate not to make any stupid mistakes because you are not checking the board. I can take my group (group #1) for example. The person who ended 5th managed to score only 2 points (both were time-outs against #6 who handed us all 2 points on a platter), yet in one of our games (the last game he was left with) he made me sweat big time at a stage and it was only during the end game that I was fortunate enough for him to make a mistake which cost him the game at the end.

Hard for me to explain as I don't fully understand it myself. Here is a link:

The biggest problem wtih including 1200-ranked players in an event is that an "unrated" player is treated as a player ranked at 1200. An unrated player may be a GM who hasn't played enough games on chess.com for a more accurate rating to show.

    So be it.

Let the games begin, and have fun everyone!
