IS THIS A CHESS GAME OR VACATION GAME?

I'm still fairly new to these online tournaments.  But if I win on time does that affect my ratining or just the Wins?

@ucmas: There is no fixed score that assures you a place in round 2. You must finish first within your group, which means either (the obvious) finishing with more points than anyone else, or tying for first and having a higher tiebreak score.

@learner318 : Be happy,  my opponent plays only one move during one or two weeks. Due to premium member, he can not loose by time, so he doesn't play. He has finished no game until now and, the most advanced has only  5 or 6 moves played. So, I think the second round of this tournament won't begin before August ^^.

An advice, forget this tournament for the moment and played one to one game, it's better :).

Maybe this guy has a job or a life or something? Not everyone is constantly on the computer/smartphone waiting for new moves. The tournament rules clearly say 3 days / move, and you and all other players could read them before joining.

And yes, this tournament _will_ take years, as have all of its predecessors. But I don't see how this is a problem.

@ HumbleTafari in most of the time my opponent comes online while I am also online. He just makes one move and sign out.He comes every 2 or 3 days and just makes exactly one move. I don't understand why can't he makes couples of more moves. I also joined 1 days/move tournament starting jan 1 and completed 9 out of 10 games in 5 days. In this 3 days/move tournament , I completed 8 games within few days. Just with this one player, we've made less than 20 moves in 36 days. This not only prolongs the game within our group, but also prolongs the tournament. If we paly like this then the game will take life time to complete..

Does this 3 days/move means someone need to come every three days and make one move??Why can't they play couple of more moves when both players are present?? I don't care whether I lose or win but playing exactly one move and waiting for another 2/3 days is too boring...

choose "no vacation" tourney and even paying members will lose on their time:D

@ammh1987: Because 2091 is not an exact multiple of 6.

    ammh1987

how come there is group with 5 people only?

Nothing, enter the mating sequence as conditional moves and stop worrying about the game. His vacation won't last forever.

@antikrak: I'm in a similar situation in my last game of the first round (which cannot affect the outcome anyway)... my opponent was automatically put on vacation when his time remaining reached 29 minutes. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to prevent this, but eventually they will run out of vacation time as well as the time limit to move.

That's one of my biggest beefs about this site... paying members get "automatic time protection," which puts them on vacation when their time is about to expire, whereas free members cannot even manually go on vacation unless it is not their move in any of their games.

I understand making certain content (chess tv, chess mentor, etc.) available only to premium members, but there should be no in-game benefits for someone based on how much cash they give to the site.

just a question concernint PREMIUM account :

if a player does not want to play beacause he can't prevent checkmate, with a premium member, he will be on vacation instead of lossing, how can we prevent this?

For the moment, this problem does not occur during my game but ...

    Thanks.
