overhere in group 33, out of the six of us that started in our group, three were no shows, and three played each other. Every one of us lost to everyone, and everyone beat everyone...So all the players who showed up will go on to the next round! Strange?

This game is going to last at least another 2 months...

Here is the thing that upsets me:
I have no problem with people using all 72 hours to make their moves (3 days), in fact, I some times do the same. I have a problem with people that don't resign their games!! I wouldn't mind waiting for a game with a roughly equal position to finish, but come on..

I  wonder if that is the point. If I was the last game, holding up all the players going on, I'd feel guilty and resign a hopeless position. There's also a lot of different opinions on the ethics of resignation--fight to the death versus showing your opponent some respect. When the position is down to a fundamental mating idea (like a queen/rook roll) and you play on, I think it is a bit disrespectful. It's as if the loser is hoping their opponent will be hit by a car in the 9 days before they can deliver mate.

with all due respect - the 2 remaining games are absurd.

    Ach!

Both games are force mate in 4 or 5 moves, so we should be on to the next round in 5 or 6 weeks--3 months tops!

Why don't the loosing man resign?? Only down 10 pawns may be their retort

Thank you for the answer MordechaiP, OK I understand now... But I'm still unsatisfied how slow people play... They have a right to do that but think it's not correct especially as I said, if they not have teoretical chance to continue -  go to second round... I have finished all my games I think  2 months ago, and I didn't play quickly, I had a lot of time to think.... Think that some people are trying to be as slow as thay can...

81% games complete for 3 months... It isn't correct that we wait for some people which doesn't have teoretical chance to go to second round...
