Tournaments with the "vacation time" enabled - terrible!!!

I wish people would resign if like a mate in 3 is about to happen or down 15 points in material it just wastes other peoples time

that means i have no chance to advance...... i am currently third

I'm enjoying my first tournament but the group I'm in also has a player who has not made a single move. Irritating to say the least. The player is CURRENTLY playing live games. Shouldn't if be that anyone who takes "vacation" should be unable to play ANY matches until they return? I don't understand why this happens.

I'll chalk this up to experience. I will not enter another tournament that allows vacation.

how many players advance from each group?

There's no additional tie-break game, both of you will advance to the second round.

If I am in first place but the second place player and I both have the same POINTS and same tie breaker points do we play each other for a tie breaker? if so when does this happen our group has no more games left.

This is my 2nd tournament and in my first came runner up in round 1 and just missed out and it looks like its going to be the same this time! Roll on my next one and hopefully I will progress next time.well played to all involved in my group.

will 9 wins see me progress to next round? the tourny should definately not include vacation time. each move should also be 2days max. other than that iv enjoyed my 2nd tourny. making progress. only won 1 of my games in the first one i entered

All this messing about as really upset my game and its totally gone to pot,my game play as collapsed,VERY ANNOYING AND VERY FRUSTRATING!! AND VERY UNFAIR.

on the verge of finishing the round and this happens,MADNESS!!

Great one of my opponents as decided to go on vacation for anything up to 20 days,this is ridiculous!!
