    Hey dromerr

As you can see the FrigidBrigadier answered you about ratig gaps and There are probably cheaters here too.

And of course you are sad about lose against me. I told you during the game. But you are not a player who use ur opponent experience to improve your chess play. Just wanna talk a lot and repeat some wrong ideas. There is this gap for me in next rounds too.

When I'm playing against a more rate opponent (if I lose) I always ask them "Which move was my mistakes or a blunder" if I couldn't take a weekly analyze (cuz I'm a free member). and it help me to don't do it again. But you r just yelling out why why why!!!!

And after all, you not only use ur training tools like chess mentor "as everyone can see this" but also u are always arguing ur opponent and all people here: why some guys are here with a high rating and wasting your and other people time istead of get some lessons, reading books, get other's guid and many facilities that you can use easily.

You can protest to chess.com why why why and if they didn't change their rules for you ,after that you can make a blog and complain there out loud again why.

Btw I didn't checkmate him in 11 moves. He resigned when I took his queen. He could continue till end.

You are a perfect man and about 37 years older than me.

It's not good for you to behave like this in a common site.

I tell to everyone that use the chess.com learning tools to improve yourself.

    specially "CHESS MENTOR"

I bet you all will take 100 rate after just some lessons. That's great

Thanks, have fun and sorry for long comment.

Normally I dont mind loosing aslong it's a nice match against a friendly opponent, but in the tournament I'm a little bit more fanatic and became poule winner in the 25th and 26th tournament (1200-1400 class)
Rightnow my rating is also slightly higher (1430) but between normal limits I think.

In my poule I'm confronted with an opponent close to 1700 and he won his first match in 11 moves from another player!

    My fun is gone! ;(

Because of how long each round takes, it's not completely unnatural to rise from a ranking of 1400 from the start of the tournament to 1900 at the start of round 2.

If you are a new user, you start at 1200. So if your actual playing strength is much higher, and you register for this tournament soon after you start playing on chess.com, this could easily happen.

Then again there are probably also cheaters.

    Yes... a lot of cheaters!

Too bad chess.com has not put all those guys in one poule, or has rules to remove them!

I see player with rate of 1947 playing in the tournament with rate 1200-1400

I think SnakeSoccer just hung his queen so we might se resignation in this last game very soon. :)

Half a year has passed since the tournament began. For real, chess is a slow game :).

Neither SnakeSoccer nor stex66 can win in their group. Both will lose on tiebreaks. The courteous thing to do is to agree to a draw, then.

No wonder Mattman isn't resigning, when he saw how his opponent was playing he must have been very happy.

I had predicted  May 1 for the start of round 2 but I'm not sure anymore.

I hope everyone is watching the game between Mattman and LucasTavares as a study in how to not checkmate a king with two queens. Actually thinking this might go to stalemate now if LucasTavares continues in this vein, missing clear mate in 1 and probably a dozen mates in 2.

Well after Mattman's latest move it's mate in one anyway unless LucasTavares manages to overlook the most obvious of moves. So let's just leave it. It's completely irrelevant considering there are still 2 other unfinished games. 2 games which have zero bearing on who advances to the next round, so why chess.com operates in such a way that we need to wait for them is a mystery.

I have done some research on Mattman's game.

    He has 37 hours left.

72 hours to do a move. 72-37=35 hours.

He was online yesterday. It is 11:00 now. 24+11=35, Mattman's opponent did his move at Midnight.

35=35, But this means that Mattman's opponent did his move as soon as Mattman logged which was at Midnight.

BUT Mattman is from England and is 13, Mattman would not be up at midnight, the earliest time is 7:00. Which means that Mattman MUST have seen that it was his move BUT he didn't do his move.

1.He is dragging the game on.

2.He had to go somewhere before he could do the move.

    1. He could be dragging the game on.

    2. It is rude to drag the game on.

    3. I suppose so.

Actually, to knight-a-la-mancha, one game done is much closer to being done over all.  Besides, continuing in a game like that is naught but sheer stupidity as there is no way one can win.  It's a slight to the honor of the opponent as you're suggesting that he's dumb enough to let a draw happen.  So shut up

@AtomicJoshh no i do not think i will do that because 1) i admire mattman's fortitude in a losing position 2) it is rude for you to bombard him with demands that he resign and 3) even if he did resign there are still 2 games going on so his resigning would have no affect on the pace of the tournement - just let people the game at their own pace. i understand that you play your games at a relatively fast pace but some of us like to take it slow and easy so please respect others on chess.com and stop whining about how others to play chess.

    Everyone ask MattMan to resign.
