All games start with the King's Indian Opening,

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e4

NOTE: If you register now and your rating changes before the start date, you will be AUTOMATICALLY moved to the correct group when the tournament starts. 

You will play up to 10 games at a time in this event.

Vacation time is allowed.  

New rounds will start when ALL games in the current round are complete.

robparker your right. But without e2-e4 both players have possibilities to go off KID into some other openings, and that would be absolutely unacceptable, so probably they sucrificed 4.g3, 4.Bg5 and 4.Bf4 to make all games fit the thematic. It is only my assumption of course.

Black's third move should read Bg7 - but we all know that!! :)


I think it is a shame they have included 4. e4 - as there are some interesting lines without this move - Fianchetto variation with 4.g3, Smyslov System with 4.Bg5, and 4.Bf4 systems .....
