How will the next round be played? New groups again?

In our grouping one player is using the 3-day move rule to the maximum and slowing the comletion right down. Nearly all games are comlete except for one player who has only completed two.

It would not be so bad if he was challenging for the win!

The whole game is now too slow.

Tiebreak is the combined score of all the opponents you beat, and half the points of the opponent's you drew with. It's meant to determine how strong the opponents you beat were, and therefore the value of your wins (it was probably easier to squeeze the win out of the group leader with nine wins up his sleeve than the person who time outed in all of his games).

The number of people advancing is stated on the this very page. Below your pairings chart, there's some basic information about the tournament. The line

# Advance: 1

means one person from each group advances.

Nope. By using a program like Fritz to determine the best response to your opponnent's move.

Dreamlane, I'd be surprised if round 1 finished in January, I'm thinking more like March... maybe ;) I only have three games to finish, but remember, it's the very last game to finish that starts off round 2.

How can a person cheat in this tournament?

Honestly, cheating is not a problem in a tournament of this rating range. It's only an issue for 2000+ and even then it's much rarer than commonly believed.

when someone cheats you lose out because they will still hold the loses against you, even though the person was disqualified. That hurts your record and your tiebreak record.....we need a solution....

Why bother entering a competition and then nor making any play progress?  To many players just not getting on with it.

 Frustrated
