Stop number two in our journey around the world! This time we head to Latvia, to play a sharp, and often tricky opening. If you missed the first stop, that's fine, all are welcome to join us as we continue to move forward. Please keep all hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times!

This tournament will start on Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at midnight Pacific. All I ask is that everyone have fun!

Please note: for those of you who may not have ever played in a thematic tournament, the first few moves are already played for you, as that is the only way to ensure that everyone sticks to the specific opening that this tournament is set to explore.

I can answer this one, cuz the same thing happened with my Dark Knight Tournament.  I set the Tournament to start right at midnight when the movie was released.  When I got back from the theater, I was expecting to see the tournament already underway.  However, despite setting a start time, the Tournament Director still needs to click on the "Begin Tournament" button, or it won't start.

So the clock is still counting towards the "start time" that was set, only now it's past the scheduled start time.  The tournament will officially begin when Baseballfan hits the "Start" button.  At that time, the computer will seed everyone according to rating, pair everyone up, and send out an E-Mail Alert to everyone.

Odd question - has this tournament started yet?  The tournament home page says it started 10 hours ago, but I don't see any evidence that any games have been created.

Thanks,

Mike

Yeah, in the US, it's common for college/university courses to be numbered by their level of difficulty. 101 being the lowest, most basic, college level course. So "Geography 101" is a bit of a play on words meaning, "a basic Geogrpahy course".

The first stop was Scotland and the "scotch opening".

You can find the tournament here:
