Anaxagoras is off to an early start with 3 wins already! But then presocratics are known for getting out there first, aren't they? Let's see what his mind is made of! I offer a great big thumbs up trophy to the first to grab a point from Anaxagoras!

Good luck all and thanks for joining!

A common mistake I saw was Black advancing with ...h5.  That is a big no-no unless the center is firmly in your grip.

So has anyone else learned anything?

I've learned

  • to watch my f7 square like a hawk
  • that the f4 pawn should not be let go lightly
the f4 pawn should be attacked vigorously unless some other target materializes
  • a Black pawn chain on the light squares is a recipe for disaster
  • attacking f7 with the knight is generally better than the bishop, unless the bishop is being sac'd
  • hanging pieces is very bad Frown
  • one needs to really know their lines well if played OTB

Well then, the winner is chopra!  I made a hasty move which was going to lead to massive material loss.  Good luck everyone.Laughing
