From my perspective I preffered playing black. I found it easier to develop as well as provide a good defence. I am playing white at the moment and whilst I should (IMHO) win this match it was not as straight forward as when i played black.

Hi

Some people say this opening gives white an advantage. So far there have been 25 white wins and 20 black wins. I suspect that in general tournament play white gets more wins than black. So there may be a small advantage for white in this opening but the stats would suggest that it's perfectly playable.

Zhane, after this tournament ends, could you create another one with the same conditions, but without any obligatory opening? :)

It's very cool.

Is there any particular reason we start from this position? It gives white an advantage as far as I can tell.

I know this may seem a very silly question to those that know but what is this opening called. I have never played it before but I can see some of its strengths but also its weakness. Its full of traps on both sides of the board. I have really enjoyed working with this opening. Sorry if I may be asking what is obvious to many of you. Your feedback will be much appreciated

sorry if I seem stupid - quite new to www.chess.com. I can see the pairings now - but how do I start the game? Will it start straight away and automatically?

It's a pity that this is a tournament for premium-members only, and we all have «Auto-Timeout Protection», so there won't be such pleasant surprises like «you won on time» Smile

In this tounament there only will be two persons per one group? :)

If so, that's cool.

Like in FIDE knockout championships.
