Is it a common strategy to be on 'vacation' most of the time in the hope that your opponent will get frustrated and quit? I only ask because I feel like I'm holding up the tournament - paperGod has made 2 moves in the last month!

I hope nobody drops out waiting for round 2 to begin because of this! IMHO this 'vacation' thing appears to be getting abused. If you can't make a move in 5 days, perhaps you shouldn't be playing in online tournaments...

# Timeouts: 16 (61%)

look at the time outs

61% is too much for a tourney with 5 days/move

Well, round 1 will weed out the non-players & round 2 will be the real round 1. Laughing

So how many players are actually still playing? Is this fairly typical (lots of people disappearing) or could it be due to the fact that reality is calling?

My opponents are taking to long to think.  I got class starting next week, so I am probably not going to be spending my time waiting for people to play.

yeah, it's weird, you don't always get e-mails.  if you see anyone about to time out the gentlemanly thing to do is send 'em a reminder.  never feels as good to win on time anyway.

I better watch the move timeout.  I don't think I was getting emails on every single move.  I blew my first game!

I'm going to make it so the tourney doesn't automatically start when full for errorist's sake.  I'll start it just before New Years (EST).

Have fun, we probably won't start until the new year so you won't have to worry about running out of time.  Thanks for joining!  Cheers. Smile
