I believe I made my point(s) in a clear and concise manner. Yet, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion and point of view. Apology accepted!

While I disagree with most of Andi's comments, I do want to apologize for my posting. Andi was the last of about 4 players who offered draws in lost positions (one player did it 4 moves in a row ?!? - maybe he really was 9 yrs old); and I just got fed up.

That's an explanation, but not an excuse. And I apologize to Andi and anyone else whom I may have insulted or offended.

To "dgrish": The moment I had already offered the draw, I saw the checkmate - but not before that - maybe that makes me the first in the history of chess who did not see a checkmate coming?! If you look at the position again, this time without the bishop being able to deliver the check, it is a draw. And I resigned, when I saw the checkmate, if you do remember.  Now, maybe I should on my behalf start complaining about playing 10 more moves in a clearly won position, before my oponent (you, in this case) resigned? Still, I do not think this is necessary, as it is not a problem, but I do think we should be more polite here and try not to insult each other in a passive-agressive fashion.

Does anyone else find it irritating when players .... oh say ... like 'Andi883' offer a draw as they are about to be checkmated ?

and why would anyone... (well, anyone older than 9) do that ??
