Chess is not a game where the quickest mover gets rewarded, because they are more likely to fall for a blunder. Those who take this game seriously will know that.
I'm guessing at least 8-9 months per round is to expect for the common 7-days-per-move tournament. Give or take a few months. Usually, it takes more than twice the amount of time, to finish one round, than in a 3-days-per-move tournament.
I'm also guessing people weren't particularly in a hurry when they signed up for this, as the title says "Slow Movers".

Question: Does any experienced tournament player have a decent estimate on how long the first round in this tournament will take?
