Fried Fox Thematic Tournaments:

The Open Tournament is open to all rating ranges.

The "Mini-Tournaments" have 24 players, group size of 6 with 3 advancing. The rating ranges available are <1199, 1201-1400 and 1401-1600.

The "King of the Mountain" tournaments have 6 players, group size of 6 with 3 advancing. The rating ranges available are <1199, 1201-1400 and 1401-1600.

The "Round Robin" tournaments have 6 playes, group size of 6 with 1 advancing. Please note that the only trohy that will be awarded will be the first place trophy. The rating ranges available are <1199, 1201-1400 and 1401-1600.

If you would like to receive personal tournament invites from this Tournament Director, please join the Starfleet Marine Corps. While events such as team matches and vote chess may occur in this group at a later date, participation in these events are neither requested nor required; however, all members in this group will receive invitations to tournaments sponsored by this TD.

    I think it is as bad as it looks.  Honestly, I have been playing White really agressively because just playing a standard game should be enough for an endgame win.  With Black I have had to fight like a demon to get a rough equality.  My previous opponents often blundered away wins with the White pieces.

    I think this opening can best be described as: Making a bad move and betting that your opponent a worse move behind you. mho. Certainly doesn't work for Vote Chess, either...

    has anyone else had the feeling that this isn't as bad as it looks for black? White can get over-eager and Black's developement is SLOW, but not as bad as it looks. still i would never play it OTB rated game, black gets nothing that can't be gotten from other, more active openings. Any thoughts on how your first round went with white or black? Anyone?
