This tournament is for anyone that wants to practice open games in one of the time-honored classical lines, The Two Knights, which can be one of the trickiest and tactical openings.

White can opt out of many extremely sharp lines with the no-less-important, 'quiet' move 4.d3 or immediately begin agressive complications with either 4.Ng5 or 4.d4.  Whichever path is choosen, play is guaranteed to be murky and originally complex and is a proven testing ground for players that enjoy honing their tactical abilities in mind boggling complications.

Players will play both sides from starting position, one game per opponent at a time.

    farrukhazziz:

If White plays d3 on move 4 then the game tends to be quiet and positional compared to moves such as Ng5 or d4.

If White chooses to play Ng5, the game usually becomes very tactical.  4.d4 is also a more tactical path for white to choose.  Both of these moves are part of attacking plans to try to play tactically.

4.d3 allows white to develop naturally and get pieces into position before attacking or to play for more positional advanatges instead of a direct attack against the black position.

Am not a bookish player, perhaps, thats why won't understand knight tactics or opening rules as mentioned in below para

"White can opt out of many extremely sharp lines with the no-less-important, 'quiet' move 4.d3 or immediately begin agressive complications with either 4.Ng5 or 4.d4.  Whichever path is choosen, play is guaranteed to be murky and originally complex and is a proven testing ground for players that enjoy honing their tactical abilities in mind boggling complications."

plz any one clears above for me? Frown

Hello all!  I am going to give it to the end of the week to get some more peeps to play.  If we hit 12 is starts automatically. If I do not have 12 by Friday afternoon (approx noon EST) I will start it then unless we have some valid objections!

Thanks for entering and Good Luck and Good Chess to all!

    ~ Richard
