Sent an invite to you all for the Grand Poobah #5 tourney.  Marti and Joe should be finishing up about the time it begins.

For anyone interested who isn't already registered, I have another tournament for under 1600 rating in sign up right now.  You will find it here: http://www.chess.com/tournament/sleepless-in-battle-lt1600

I think its funny you haven't resigned fatherjames. You think he'll hang his queen to you or give you the stalemate?

    JoeLyles

When I resigned to Kongrosian this morning [it was mate in 1], I thought he had me on the tie break.  Who knew?

Marti and Joe for the second round. Good chess everyone.  I will create Grand Poobah tourney #5 later this week if anyone is interested.

    Martib11

I must indeed say that I like the way this tournament has developed! However, it seems like I'm having some difficulties beating jim_campbell77, so I wouldn't say that I'm the favourite here. We'll se ;)

The vote would still be for two players as they both move on to round two.  I would think Marti and JimC if Joe is having difficulty in three of his remaining games.

Can I change my vote to Martib11?

    JoeLyles

I appreciate the vote of confidence . . . but it's getting crowded on top on this leaderboard, and I'm getting beat in two or three of the games left.

    It's a race, folks.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Joe Lyles will win this one.  One thing is for sure:  he definitely took me out to the woodshed in both our games!

Hey, I just saw the (good natured) jabs at The Blue Bishop. Alas, I'm afraid the analysis is correct: I'm just the rabbitt in this thing who will be soon left in the dust. All the same, it's fun looking back at the pack while it lasts.

I know, Wanderain.  I was just kidding (and ragging on The Bishop!)

No he isn't.  He is only ahead because he has completed the most games so far.  He has 5 losses in their as well, there are players moving more slowly with no losses at all or only one or two.

The Blue Bishop is running away with this thing!  Somebody stop him! Laughing

Bunch of nasty hooligans! Some evil games going on, just the way I like it. :)

Thought this would fill up quick with 21 people invited who played in it before...I will open it up to the public tomorrow.

It is a fairly close rating group...but I have seen you play and I agree you may win this.

    Unless you don't.
