Sorry about how long this is taking.

My opponent always waits until he has 5-10 hours left on his clock before moving. I can understand thinking about your moves, and certainly you may want to take the full 6 days on a couple of them, but if youre taking maximum time on every single move, you aren't doing it because you're thinking, you're doing it because you don't want to play chess.

I will sympathize with anyone who has to play Bone Orchard in the next round.

I think everyone else got better while we waited and I did not.

And now- round 2 of this horribly long tournament!

I figure, they get as much time as everyone else to finish, so we wait.  Of course, they both move on to the second round regardless of the outcome...

It's hard to believe this tournament still has one remaining match in the first round after 9.5 months...It looks like we may finally see round 2 soon...

There are still two games remaining in round 1, and it has been that way for over a month. Such is correspondence chess.

The first round has been going on for 2 months and there are 2 players who still have 8 games to finish. Is there any way of hurrying them up at all?

These tournaments take a long time to make progress. Patience is the key!

I certainly wasn't disrespectful at all, I was merely pointing to the fact that you have to expect and live with longer games in a tournament with such time controls. There is a reason why I and probably others too joined this particular tournament, that is the 3 day games are simply too risky for me. Though, as you mentioned, my average move time isn't that high, I sometimes can't get anywhere near a computer for several days. Since I dislike timeouts too I choose to play with 7+ days only. I doubt that opponent of yours, who timed out, did it to ruin your day, that guy maybe was just busy with life. Just be patient, you will get your games anyway and you can play plenty of others in the meantime.

Wow, calm down borked.  I am well aware of what the time controls mean.  I was

expressing impatience at the fact that one of my opponents moved about seven

times in the first game and is now a no-show for the last nine days.  I won that

game on time and now have to wait another six days for our second game to

end.   That is a wee bit frustrating, but as a said before, all good things to those

who wait.  I am still playing Round 1, game two against Baliguide (a

very worthy opponent).  I wish you would show a little more respect in the way

you address other players.  BTW, your average move time is about six hours, so

obviously you aren't taking all seven days to move most of the time.

I don't understand why you are so impatient. You joined a tournament with a time control of 7 days and you knew beforehand what that means, right? If you wanted faster games you could have joined one with 3 or 1 days.

Hadn't seen that about Group #3.  Oh well, all good things come to those who wait.
