The queen pawn openings tend to be more positional than tactical. The opening is still full of opening traps and tricks. It can lead to very surprising and sharp lines. So be alert :)
Watson, in Mastering the chess openings, divides the queen pawn openings into two sections: Closed systems (Queen gambit) and Indian systems. We have started with the closed systems.
The classical variations is the most familiar, but did you see the last game of Magnus Carlsen?
