Another great lesson about Gligoric and the KID! Keep them coming GM Bojkov
Nice Presentation. I think it'd be nice to include the analysis in the PGNs.
Great players, great games, and a great lesson! Thanks GM Bojkov!
And it serves Najdorf right (1st game here) for his cheap trick of acting like he made a bad move in a prior game vs Gligoric (slapping his head after making the move) - how unprofessional can a world-class GM get?
I think listeners who don't know much (or anything) about Najdorf and/or Eliskases will be very surprised to find out they were also world-class GMs in their heydays - although Najdorf had a much longer heyday than Eliskases.
Wonderful, deep , well thought lesson, and a great tribute to Gligoric.
Thank You, GM Bojkov!

by GM Dejan Bojkov
Today's King's Indian practitioners have GM Gligoric to thank. Here GM Bojkov shows the birth of the modern-day "Mar del Plata" variation, employed by Gligoric to win several games in the 1950s and later used by Kasparov to annihilate fellow GMs in the 1990s. Gligoric enacts some revenge on the Argentinian GM Najdorf on his home soil, then beats another disbelieving Argentinian GM later in the same tournament. To date, no refutation has been found!
