Points taken. I think a highlighted portion of the shows - 20 to 30 minutes - would be best. Agreed. Will work on this.
Ok so I understand that you wish to increase exposure to the ChessTV. Not a bad idea, since these sessions are being stored after all. My suggestion would be to select the speakers (kibitzers) carefully that you will put up on the daily lectures. Some of the commentators tend towards trash talking and that is less appealing (at least to me). Like I said it's hard to set aside an hour to watch a computer screen, and it's only harder when the speaker grates on your nerves. So if you keep it instructive and choose a good speaker you will have lots of followers for these. Otherwise you may as well just give the highlights in a shorter format, guaranteeing more value per minute.
Of course this is the problem that chess has always faced in live broadcasts. So thanks for the effort! I'll keep watching.
Daniel, welldone. That's good idea. Keep the lectures and add TV shows.
Thanks for the good work you're doing here.
Love your live sessions. Specially when you lose. Sorry.
So I guess to answer the question directly (realizing I didn't ) the answer is:
Yes, we are going to continue to publish TV Shows as the Daily "Featured" Video. The majority of TV Shows will NOT replace your new daily video lecture so don't worry. Instead they will go directly into the archive library...
BUT the plan moving forward is to have 2 TV Shows to every 4 Regular Video Lectures per week.
@cofresi and others -
As we've continued to put more resources into Chess.com/TV we've been trying to increase exposure to ChessTV by having a few TV Shows turned into the Daily Video per month.
We are actually now putting ALL our TV Broadcasts into the Video Library, but only publishing a few as the "Daily Video".
Also, those of you who've been Diamond Members for a while may remember that we only published 5 new videos a week for our first several years - only in the last 1.5 years have we been doing 6 videos a week (one on the weekends).
We feel we are offering *plenty* of new videos each week, and so the publishing of a TV Show as a Daily Video, especially since many may have missed it live, didn't see like that bad of an idea to us . Of course if we receive large outcries we may have to change our mind, but I just wanted to let you guys know "our perspective".
Completely agree with cofresi!
I totally agree. I feel us diamond members pay for the daily lectures.
I agree with cofresi.
Nice to have these commentaries. But I don't think they should replace the daily lectures. I think the Chess.com TV has been great as a separate resource -- Are you intending to replace the shorter lectures with these longer kibitzing sessions?
