is this video a joke because when you said the game could go as follows you take a pawn when the mate move was rook b8

Hi Lord Kira,

 I agree with you. Going to the kingside and then switching with Rb1! would have been the cleanest way.

Hmmm..... I probably would have stayed on kingside, only becase the past pawn was safe enough and leaving the pawns alone with black's pawns and king is a little worrying, since you can't exactly run back to protect them. Engame being my weakest aspect, i've seen myself doing similar mistakes. I always like to spend a little time doing some lines in my head before making a big decision like whether to go kingside or queenside with the king.
