bishops are good in open fields, and 2 of them can form an "electric fence", preventing the king from passing, but knights are more valuable in cramped positions, and can be very annnoying when in the opponents territory. I prefer Bishop over knight.

I use them both about equally, I use my knights at the beginning to wreck havoc, I would sac them part way through then have my bishops dominate at the end when the board is cleared.
