This position might look like a composed study but it actually occurred in a game. White's position appears to be utterly hopeless. He cannot catch black's h-pawn and his own pawn is easily caught by black's king. So White resigned. Imagine his surprise and irritation when it was later demonstrated by Richard Reti that the position was in fact drawn.
