Partner streamers who meet all feedback and criteria (Twitch and Chess.com staff will provide guidelines) will have the opportunity to join our team on both Twitch and Chess.com. This means your channel would get auto-hosted on our main Twitch site (Twitch.tv/chess), and embedded at available times on Chess.com/TV (see below). Streamers will have the ability like never before to hit the ground running and grow their audiences through additional (Chess.com supported) viewers!
Assistance with Twitch:
Through our partnership with Twitch, we'll be able to help you with gaining access to Partner Status on Twitch, allowing you to work towards getting subscribers of your own as well as other financial and logistical perks.
Front page of Twitch:
With this program, Chess.com has been guaranteed a certain amount of front-page carousel hours by the Twitch team. These hours are available not only for Chess.com's biggest events (Speed Chess Championship, PRO Chess League, etc) but all our partners! Chess.com will work with Twitch to get our partners promoted on the front page, growing your audience even further!
Shows embedded on Chess.com/TV:
As their audience grows and they provide consistently high-quality content, partners will have access to their streams being embedded directly on Chess.com/TV. These shows will not only have the additional exposure of reaching the Chess.com community more directly, but will benefit from push notifications to Chess.com's official mobile (iOS and Android). This also includes staff, design and moderation support for your streams.
Opportunities for paid slots on the ChessTV schedule:
We're always looking for new talent for our ChessTV shows and events, and by streaming regularly you'll be auditioning for those jobs!
Invitation to the annual Chess.com Streamers Challenge:
The upcoming Chess.com Streamers Challenge will bring together many of the world's most popular chess streamers for one of the most exciting events of the year. The event will only be available to partners of the Twitch and Chess.com Streamer's Program.
Access to unique Twitch extensions:
As Chess.com and Twitch increase their working relationship, we are in the process of developing custom extensions for Twitch (that will be available first for streamers within our program). These tools will take the level of interactivity between streamers and their fans (chat) to all new heights.
Media assistance, brand guidance and social support:
Our streamers will have access to custom-designed templates and images to make sure their streams look as good as possible. Streamers will also receive brand guidance and support on social media platforms. Those who qualify will get access to Chess.com's team members who specialize in creating, sharing and growing chess content online.
You must stream exclusively on Chess.com:
Whenever you're streaming chess, we expect it to be on Chess.com, using Chess.com's server, and showing a Chess.com logo in the stream.
You must exclusively stream to Twitch:
Any live-streaming must be done to your Twitch channel. VODs and replays can be hosted on other video platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc), but the live show must be originally aired on Twitch.
You must be a good brand ambassador for both Chess.com and Twitch.tv:
We expect you to represent both Chess.com and Twitch in the best way possible.
We expect your stream to be high quality:
Your stream must look professional, with great visuals and audio.
You must have a clean, professional look:
In addition to the required use of Chess.com and our logo, streamers must provide a consistent and positive look for chess. As mentioned, Chess.com can and will develop templates customized to your preferences.
You must stream regularly (recommended minimum of eight hours per week):
The only way to grow your audience is to stream consistently and regularly. Though Chess.com and Twitch understand this number of total hours may fluctuate based on the streamer, it is our goal (and the goal of any member of this program) to see chess streaming as a serious hobby, with big goals for chess as an esport, and the expectation of growing your brand online for your own financial benefit.
You must join our team on Twitch and set your channel to host other Chess.com streamers:
Members of the Chess.com streamers family will help it grow by hosting one another's channels. We are all in this together, and we expect our partners to want to help the entire chess ecosystem. Chess.com and Twitch are happy to explain the additional benefits of hosting the shows of other streams within your streaming partnership.
