A long time ago we missed the 75th birthday of Goldie Hawn, who started out on TV in the 60s and grew to greater fame and celebrity particularly through film through the 70s to 90s expanding on her fun personality from kooky but adorable beginnings. Born in Washington DC, she was raised in Takoma Park, Maryland & educated Montgomery Blair High School, Silver Spring, Maryland. Raised in the Jewish religion, but in later life though still of the Jewish faith she publicly embraced spiritualism and faith of all kinds through mindfulness, but especially Buddhism. Whilst young she learned ballet and tap and performed in ballet, which she taught for a while aged 19, but came in to entertainment as a go-go dancer in NYC & New Jersey. In 1966 she moved to California and appeared in musical choruses, eventually coming to fame via Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In 1968-70 becoming a regular and receiving three Primetime Emmy nominations. However in 1969 she also won an Oscar & Golden Globe for Best Actress for Cactus Flower 1969 as well as Most Promising Newcomer in the latter and that opened more doors:- There’s a Girl in My Soup 1970 (BAFTA nominated & for Cactus Flower), Butterflies are Free 1972, The Sugarland Express 1974, Shampoo 1975, The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox 1976, Foul Play 1978, Private Benjamin 1980 (Oscar nominated), Best Friends 1982, Protocol & Swing Shift 1984, Overboard 1987, Bird on a Wire 1990, Death Becomes Her & Housesitter 1992, The First Wives Club 1996 and The Banger Sisters 2002. She has been partnered with Kurt Russell since 1983 and they have lived and had/have homes in Brentwood California, Pacific Palisades LA, Palm Desert, Riverside County CA, Aspen & Snowmass Village Colorado, Manhattan & Vancouver.
