Professional Chess Instructor and U.S. National Master

Hello,

My name is Alex Crump, and I am a chess player and instructor located in Charlotte, NC. I earned the title of National Master at the age of 13, and am currently focused on enhancing my game further.

Throughout my chess career, I have achieved several notable accomplishments, including a shared first-place finish in both the 2013 U15 section of the U.S. Junior Open and the 8th Grade Nationals in the same year. I have also been part of several National Champion teams throughout my chess career. My peak USCF rating is 2326, and my peak FIDE rating is 2108.

For the past three years, I have been teaching chess both online and in person to students of all ages. My primary goal as a coach is to help each student improve their game, and to enjoy the learning process, even when it gets quite difficult. Chess improvement may not be easy, but is possible with proper guidance, determination, and effort!
