I enjoyed many years playing OTB during the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Walked away from the OTB game with the advent of faster TC's.  The fascination with Chess during those years caused my Wife to consider herself a "Chess Widow" during that era.meh.png

Cheating is a perennial subject in sports. And chess has been no exception. It seems to me cheating to win a game of chess, where the only reward is ranking, is at best a meaningless accolade. The whole concept is foolish. If you are cheating at anything for the accolade of accomplishment, then the only thing you've accomplished well is cheating. What I like about correspondence chess is it doesn't matter if I'm playing a person or a program, I'm still playing the best I can against an opponent. A software program will outplay my best replies more than likely, as would a Grandmaster, but I will still enjoy the struggle. And no, I won't play you for money.evil.png
