Chess career summary:

 I am a FIDE Certified Chess Trainer: I have two FIDE trainers certifications/licenses below:

1. Developmental Instructor (DI).

2. Schools Instructor  (SI).

NB: FIDE is the world chess governing body ( Fédération Internationale des Échecs).

I have over seven (7) years of chess-playing and coaching experience with exemplary performance records in both fields. I am also a Chess Arbiter. My certification is National Arbiter (NA) level. I have officiated in several junior and adult Chess tournaments throughout major cities in Kenya for the past three (3) years.

Chess is a game that teaches individuals how to develop good planning, good time management, and better problem-solving techniques and improves the socializing skills of an individual with other members of society.

Nature of training services offered:

1. Physical / Over The  Board (OTB) Chess coaching sessions.

2. Online Chess coaching sessions  (chess.com classroom).

Chess Coaching Charges:

3) I charge 25 USD (KES 2,500) per session. A session lasts for a minimum of 1 hour. The rates are negotiable depending on the number of training sessions registered for by the client per week, month, year, etc.

The Chess training program entails;

 1.  A systematic chess course/syllabus for children as young as 4 years-18 years and adults who are interested in learning chess.

2.  An engaging/interactive teaching approach that allows a student (s) to be as inquisitive as possible for maximum chess course content absorption.

3.  A teaching culture of positivity that promotes discipline and following societal norms, while adhering to the institution’s code of conduct, ethics, and values.

4.  Periodic and termly training progress and performance reports to my clients.

Teaching methodology:

I believe learning chess should be fun and instructive at the same time, my students regularly report that they enjoy the lessons thoroughly. Each lesson is always tailor-made to a specific level of student(s) as each individual is unique in their own ways of learning.

Starting from the absolute basics of chess, the lessons cover every chess topic systematically in order to bring a student from a complete beginner to an advanced-level player. I have a tailor-made syllabus for Beginner-Advanced levels of training to equip the students efficiently and effectively with the necessary chess knowledge thus preparing them sufficiently for internal, national, regional, and international tournaments.

KENYA NATIONAL CHESS LEAGUE (KNCL) 2022

The academy fielded two teams (S.S.A-Team A and S.S.A-Team B)  in the Kenya National Chess League (KNCL): Super League Division for the 2022 Calendar. S.S.A-Team A finished at position 5/21 teams whereas S.S.A-Team B finished at position 20/21 teams.

We look forward to fielding a team into the KNCL 2023 calendar that's slated to start on 18/03/2023.
