Hello! My name is Andrew. I’ve been playing chess since I was four years old, competing in tournaments both in the United States and internationally for the past 15+ years. I am a National Master with a peak FIDE rating of 2246 and a peak USCF rating of 2385. Some of my biggest playing accomplishments include

3x Minnesota State High School Champion (2018, 2019, 2020)
T-2nd at the Minnesota State Championship (2025)

1x 1st Division II Team Champion Pan-American Intercollegiate Championships (2024)
1x Division II Team Champion Collegiate Chess League (2023)
T-3rd US Amateur Team East (2023)

I am also passionate about directing tournaments for my community. As the Vice President and Director of Competitive Events at the Georgia Tech Chess Club, I organized and directed over 50 events in four years. Our largest tournament had ~90 players including over 10 titled players, making it one of the largest chess tournaments in the state of Georgia in 2024. Since graduating, I have continued to direct a handful of rated scholastic tournaments in Minnesota.

Outside of chess, I graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering and now work full time as a Software Engineer. I am currently open to coaching students locally in the Minnesota chess community.
