"Bonnie" Renee Chaney aka ChessChaney is from Texas. I began playing Chess late in life after I saw our chess pieces on an episode of the original Hawaii 5.0 which aired on Me TV in October of 2017. I credit the villain, for his performance that day, who was talking to his queen as if she had all the answers to his problems. He was pouring his heart out to her when I turned to look at the t.v. there was my queen to the e set my husband had been given from an old childhood friend of his. The one that basically just collected dust because he only used it when his friend would visit as I had zero interest in learning that game.

I knew our set was old but had it not been for that episode and seeing our own chess set on T.V. I would have never been intrigued enough to learn the game. I had never seen these pieces before as they aren't traditional and are quite unique looking. Nevertheless, after that day I had to know why that villain was consulting our queen, why he would talk to a chess piece and if he confided in her that much the ere must be something I'm missing and I needed to know.

My first impression of chess was, who would want to play a game that takes so long and all you do is look at the board in total silence. It didn't look fun to me. It's sad I had to see my set on T.V. to spark my interest enough to finally want to learn what it was all about.

Soon after I had my husband teach me the rules and we started to play regularly, however it wasn't until I had lost over a hundred times and had tears in my eyes did he tell me his secrets, the reasoning behind his moves, which eventually led to my first win! it wasn't until he couldn't play did I discover the benefits of chess and online chess. Now I play people all over the world!
