Until becoming active here around June 2024, I had not played chess since Karpov was still World Champion. I was 2000 Elo back then. I am trying to knock off a quarter century's accumulation of rust; with some gradual success; but doubt that I will reach my former peak.

My interests outside chess include tabletop RPG (Runequest and Glorantha, to be precise), Real Ale, and Reformation Cranmerian liturgy with particular reference to thought on how the ways in which we speak and worship impact on how we think.
