Its finally here. Sixteen teams from around the globe gathered together for the Not-So Pro Chess League Play Offs. For six days, 80 chess players will play for the win. And I thought its too early, but in just 2 hours from the official opening ceremony one game already finished. FIRST BLOOD!

This game thought us that we need to check out the different sequence of captures as they frequently leads to different outcomes.

Chess.com database shows that at 8. Bxc4 the position is the same as the 1951 match between Nielsen Julius and Pedersen Eigil at Denmark. But the game opened in a different move pattern.

I found one instructive video about the game opening, Slav Defense: Modern Quiet Schallop Defense.

So after watching this video it seems the Schallop Defense is a mirror image of the London System.

See? The bishop outside the pyramid is there. Anyway, this game puts the RAR Attackers on the lead for their match against Universal Checkmaters. This is just the beginning there's 4 boards to play.
