My Chess Books Vol - 7: Modern Chess Opening Theory by A.S. Suetin
At $20.00 used. This is one of the most expensive books in my chess library. It is an advanced book that is aimed at an advanced audience, although a dedicated beginners may find the last chapter useful as it explains how to study an opening with the examination of Ruy Lopez used as an example. Suetin apart from copious work on the opening theory provides us with some historical perspectives as well. In short, this is a meaningful addition to any chess book library but I would not recommend it to a beginner.
