My greatest OTB victory so far

Hi everyone, I thought I might share my latest game, which is one of the better games of chess I have played so far, at least it is the highest rated opponent I have beaten thus far.

I played some chess in grammar school, but it was later in life, at the age of 28, that I rediscovered chess and joined a local chess club - the club is actually celebrating 250 years (!) this year.

Over the past three years, I have devoted quite some time to improving at chess. Reading loads of chess books, and spending at least 30 minutes to an hour per day with the tactics trainer. I have also made significant progress, starting at around 1200, my LASK rating (the current Swedish standard rating system) is currently at 1520 and my ELO rating is 1740. On this blog, I will try to publish some games, some thoughts, some highlights and some setbacks on my journey towards a higher rating.

I have not asked my opponent permission to publish this game so out of respect for him, I will not disclose his name. Please note that most exclamation marks and question marks are my own. They are subjective and colored by my feelings and emotions at the time.

I appreciate your constructive comments. Thank you and take care!
