Daniel Rensch, IM, Official Statement Regarding Nepomniachtchi vs Aronian Match

In response to IM DanielRensch’s post about the connection problems, with the recent SpeedChess Challlenge match between Lev Aronian and Ian Nepomniachtchi, I would suggest that chess.com considers setting up Internet Chess.com Cafes! Remember internet cafes and how they were ubiquitous? In many countries they, still, are a familiar sight on the high street. If chess.com were to either set up their own chess.com internet cafes across the world or franchise them out they would, no doubt, be extremely successful. People would play only chess.com games at the cafes If people had problems with internet coverage at home the cafes would be a place were they could login to chess.com and get good connections. The cafes would also serve as meeting places for chess enthusiasts and drinking coffee of course. Also important competitions like the Lev Aronina and Ian Nepomniachtchi Speedchess challenge could take place at these cafes. The players would visit their local chess.com interne café and play their match from there in one of the quiet booths provided at the café.
