After a Bad Start, the Tide of Battle Turns
As Black facing a 1688-rated opponent, I lost my Queen's Rook within a few moves and found my King exposed on the front line, all hopes of castling gone. I berated myself for my stupidity and poor grasp of simple opening traps. I told myself yet again that one of these days I really must study a few openings. But White's guard was probably down, and he dealt casually with the scrambled defense I cobbled together. My last move must have come as a terrible shock!
