Chess World Championship Heads to a Tiebreak
Chess World Championship Heads to Tiebreak After an Anti-Climatic Game 12
As you probably all know, the Chess World Championship is in a dead heat (6-6) at the end of the "Classical" Games. So the match is heading to a rapid/blitz tiebreak. First there will a 4 game match involving rapid 25 minute games. If that match ends in a tie then it goes to blitz mini matches: 2 game matches at 5 minutes/game. If after 5 of these mini matches, the players are still tied, they will go to one final "armageddon" game: White will have 5 minutes, Black will have 4, if the game ends in a draw then Black will be declared victorious.
