"He who analyses blitz is an idiot"
Said by the one and only Rashid Gibiatovich Nezhmetdinov (I ought to write a few things about him in the previous game I posted but I didn't so I will do it now) these are words that can't be ignored since he was one of the most creative players of his time and also one of the best teachers(awarded the medal of Honorable trainer of the Soviet Union). He was the player Tal himself asked to help him in his world title matches.
Do not be fooled by the lack of international results.Nezhmetdinov was a military officer. He dedicated himself to chess after Wolrd War II at the age of 34(!) when most of the players of his generation were already professional GMs yet he managed to qualify for 5 finals of the Soviet championship winning players like Geller and Flohr(an absolutely amazing achievement). He never became GM because he wasn't allowed to play outside USSR and even the IM title wasn't earned but rather awarded as recognition of his amazing result in Bucharest(one of the 3 times he was allowed to play outside USSR) in 1954(second behind Korchnoi and brilliancy prize for his game against Paoli).
But hippo is mainly a blitz opening(it's value in classical chess is , let's put it politely , doubtful) and the top level games so few(counted in the fingers of 2 hands) that we can't afford to ignore a game played by the great Garry Kasparov.
So please Rashid forgive me.
