Current WEBLOG bibliography: THE OXFORD COMPANION TO CHESS (OCC) & QUICK CHESS KNOCKOUTS (QCK)

With a winning record in both BLITZ and ONLINE game categories (STANDARD mas tarde), I believe I'm on the best path toward achieving my chess goal for the coming New Year: CHESS EXPERT w/ELO rating >2000 but...

A Little Bit About Me First

Those who see me here at Chess.com as "a person of interest" know that I live in rural, backcountry Alaska whenever I'm not in Latin America, which implies that I have lots of time to kill studying and playing chess. Generally, that is the case since all I can do is collect SSDI payments & welfare benefits while creating ways to make my life both meaningful and worth living in rustic surroundings. So I pursue what little happiness Uncle Sam allows me via the Royal Game. I'm saying, "It's either chess OR dissipation through drunken debauchery, sexual promiscuity and insane Dionysian revelry."

Rather, it's AND/OR for me because I've just decided to have my cake and eat it, too, with, "What's the real difference between chess, professional wrestling, pornography & politics anyway?"

My Bibliography So Far

QUICK CHESS KNOCKOUTS (QCK) by Julian Hodgson rebooted my game and now infuses it with new enthusiasm, so I credit it with not only making me understand the real value of opening knowledge but with teaching me basic killer instinct, which whets my appetite for more of the thrill only quick scores and easy victories bring.

THE OXFORD COMPANION TO CHESS (OCC) by David Hooper & Kenneth Whyld is my standard reference for all things chess.
