You are a lucky man to have a complete set of Purdy's chess magazines.

I have been searching for Purdy's article the "Great Steinitz Hoax."

I have tracked it down:

Purdy’s ‘The Great Steinitz Hoax’ in the Australian Chess Player’s Quarterly 1978, vol. 2 (and 3?) in which Purdy apparently argues that Lasker was more the author of the theory than Steinitz.

Reactions appeared in 1980 and 1981, nos. 1 and 2 of vol. 4 and no. 1 of vol. 5.in which Purdy apparently argues that Lasker was more the author of the theory than Steinitz.

Purdy's "The Great Steinitz Hoax", Chess Player's Quarterly, 1978 is reprinted in No.2 of Lasker and his Contemporaries Vol. 2, page 39, published in 1979 by Thinkers Press. A used copy starts at $70, too rich for my blood.

The article is not in any of the Thinkers Press Purdy books. I know of no other sources of Purdy's book or articles.

Would you please consider posting the article for the pleasure of Purdy's world wide fans?
