Hello!
Everyone has their favourite openings. One which has served me well is the From's gambit, because in return for just one pawn your pieces spring into life. Well that is the general idea for most gambit openings. Why is this one so special you may wonder. Straight away, white must fend off a myriad of threats, such as pressure on the fool's mate diagonal, a pin against the Nf3 in conjunction with Qe7, central pressure, and white is left wondering whether black will castle short or long. Even if white does parry all of these threats, black will be left with a lasting initiative.
Firstly, you might want to test your tactical skills with puzzles from the games below:

Before we get onto the main course, here are both of my previous outings in this opening in serious games:
League game 2017:
Nottingham Congress 2018:
Gibraltar Tournament 2020:
I scored average at Gibraltar with 3/5, finishing somewhere mid-table. Of course it could have been better, but what can you do eh? Anyway, here is my best game, in which I managed to obtain a winning position in just 10 moves, so this is my first miniature. It was a pleasure to play:

For a briton, such sunny January mornings don't go amiss.

Cheerio!
