Chess.com University Presents Chess 014: Endgame Technique for 1200 - 1500 ELO Players!
Dear Chess.com Members,
After the completion of Chess.com University's best-selling courses: Chess 012: Strategy and Tactics for 1200 - 1500 ELO Players and Chess 013: Opening Proficiency for 1200 - 1500 Players, I decided to offer:
Chess 014: Endgame Technique for 1200 - 1500 Players.
The purpose of this new post is to provide more information regarding Chess 014.
Note that this course follows the "class format" meaning it will be like an online college class.
Instructor: Kairav Joshi
Endgame Technique for 1200 - 1500 ELO Players Class Overview:
This thorough class will cover everything players between 1200 and 1500 ELO need to know about endgames. Key topics include: endgame principles, endgame evaluations, common endgame tactics, principle of two weaknesses, planning in the endgame and later phases of the middlegame, king and pawn endgames, minor piece endgames, and techniques for saving inferior endgame positions.
The goal will be to become knowledgeable about endgames and proficient at applying endgame principles to a variety of positions. Once all the relevant content is covered, the focus of the class will move to developing endgame technique. Students will learn how to convert endgame advantages into wins and how to defend inferior endgame positions.
Like my previous class, this class is designed to train students, not just teach content. I want you to improve your thinking abilities as well. The purpose of this class format is to help students "learn-by-doing."
This class will be beneficial even for those outside the 1200 - 1500 ELO rating range; I keep using this range for naming consistency. A more appropriate range is 1100 - 1600 ELO. Also note that Chess.com correspondence chess ratings tend to be inflated. Message me if you are interested, but not sure if this class is for you. I will give you my honest opinion.

Schedule and Format:
*Class officially starts on Saturday, December 7th, 2013 at 12:30 PM PST (Pacific Time, USA) with a live orientation session.*
All registered students will receive a video recording of this session so attending live is not required. The first live lecture will most likely be on Saturday, December 14th, 2013 around noon PDT but the time will not be finalized until after class begins.
The class will be spread out over 5 weeks. This class is designed to be one month long but there will be a one week break during Christmas time.
Most live lessons will be taught on Saturdays at varying times to satisfy students from different time zones. I want every student to be able to attend at least half of the sessions live. All live lectures will be video recorded so even if you cannot attend, you will be able to watch the recording and email me questions.
Only about 10% to 15% of the class instruction will be live for this chess class. Students from any time zone with any kind of schedule may take this class because it is extremely flexible and learner-friendly!
Students may even join the class late and still have access to all of the material covered!
Chess.com University classes allow students to relax and stop thinking about what they should do to improve at the game. We do all of the organizational work for you!

Please register as soon as possible if you are interested in taking this course. Last-minute registrations are somewhat inconvenient for me. With that said, I would rather have you register late than not register at all!
30 students have registered already meaning only 10 spots are left! However, I will let everybody who purchases by midnight on December 4th join!
Because Chess.com University wants to continue growing, I have implimented a referral program. I would like to ask you to recommend Chess.com University to friends, relatives, and heck, even strangers! For each NEW student you bring in to Chess 014, you will get a $20.00 discount. A new student is defined as someone who has never taken any seminars or classes offered by Chess.com University.
All you have to do to receive this discount is ask the person you referred to message me and mention your username. Discounts will be processed as partial refunds after the person you referred purchases Chess 014. So whether or not you plan on referring students to this class, please register for the class as soon as possible. Again, remember, you can only receive the discount if the person you recommend Chess 014 to ends up registering.
Let's also remember that Christmas is approaching! If you want to gift a chess player something unique yet wonderful this year, Chess 014 is here ready to be given away! Message me if you want to gift Chess 014 to someone else. The $20 discount would still apply.
This course will be delivered entirely online using Chess.com, Livestream, and email. There will be a class group on Chess.com which I will use to post announcements or start discussions. Students may interact with each other through the groups as well. The most important announcements will be sent via email so do check your email daily if you take this class!
Remember, all live broadcasts will be recorded and available for download by all the students!
