Today we are going to learn about the best player in my honest opinion. He is none other than Rashid Nezhmetdinov.

First a tactic:

White to move and mate in 2

We can learn so much from Nezhmetdinov's games, I always look at how his pieces always seem to be on the right squares. It is a quality that I wish I had in my chess. I actually remember a short story that one of my chess teachers told me and I'll pass it down to you guys: A famous chess player who was rising in the ranks just finished his game and had to play Nezhmetdinov next round. He went back to his "second" and asked him about how he should prepare for Nezhmetdinov. His second ask him "Do you want the truth or do you want me to lie?". The famous chess player said, "the truth please". So his second said, "He will play the opening well, sac a piece out of nowhere and win".....He did just that and the second was fired.

I hope you enjoy the video and the short story! Take care!
