Disappointing Loss

Here is a game from the first round of one of my recent OTB tournaments. The rest of the tournament, I was fighting to keep my head above water. I'm sure many of you can relate.

LESSONS LEARNED:

- When ahead in material, button up your position and squash counter-play. That is rule #1 in these situations.

- Simplify when ahead in material.

- Don't underestimate your lower rated opponent's ability to cause problems when you are ahead.
