My answer: I've been teaching for years and I am currently a full-time chess instructor (https://www.chess.com/coach/yelizaveta-orlova). Majority of the topics I teach, I already know them very well which means I am not challenging my mind in anyway. If a chess coach also has the time to study than of course you can improve your chess - otherwise I believe you will stay the same level or even go down a bit. Sadly to say, I quit studying many years ago because it is very hard to be a full-time chess coach AND be a competitive chess player/study. I can't do chess 24/7 guys! I need a life Tongue Out
