Wild Wild French

I recently completed a wildly tactical game against the French, including a sacrifice of a whole rook to generate an attack on the king. By all rights I could have lost this game on a few different occasions, but it's easy to slip up when your king is being chased on an open board. Eventually this is what happened to my opponent.

 

Playing against the French is already unusual for me because I play 1. d4. But after seeing 1. d4 e6 and having played the French myself many years ago and occasionally still today I decided what the heck and played 2. e4. No doubt this played into the desires of my opponent who handled the opening very well.
