The First and Probably Last Time I Will Ever get to Play Phillidor's Mate

Going into this game, I was not very prepared because I had been out of town on a college orientation trip. Looking back at my games, I had only played Peralta once before as black about 8 months ago in the Illowa October 2016 Tournament in round 1. That game still haunts me at night; I gained a nice advantage out of the opening and went on to play a nice middle game. We both blundered consecutively, but after the smoke cleared, I had a winning advantage. Unfortunately, I ended up missing a mate in 8 and losing all in time trouble. Remembering that game, I went into this wanting revenge.
Peralta is a very intuitive player who relies heavily on his instincts. This would play greatly in my favor because his biggest weakness is the opening, which is definitely one of my greatest strengths. Especially in an opening like the Grünfeld, one's instincts may end up being one's poison without any opening theory.
