Today he’s walking you through our newest update which includes the addition of an opening repertoire & explorer feature, being able to save any position as a flashcard, a statistics page, a classroom feature, and a video he recorded explaining the new updates. Over the last few weeks, Chessalyz has grown from a game-analysis tool into a full training ground. There is a new way to manage your openings, a way to save and build your own flashcards, a stats page, smarter imports, and a stronger classroom. Here is everything that is new.

🎯 The big one: Opening Repertoire & Explorer

Chessalyz now understands your openings: what you actually face, what you have prepared, and the exact moment a game leaves your prep.

See what your opponents actually play. Open the new Openings tab and you get an explorer built from your own games: which replies you actually face, how often, and your real results from each position.

Build your repertoire, your way. Drag pieces to add lines as White or Black, add per-move and per-position notes, draw arrows, check a candidate with the built-in Stockfish panel, and import a PGN to seed it.

See it live in your game review. A red marker shows where you left your own prepared line, with the move you had prepared. An orange flag shows opponent moves you have not covered yet, so you know what to add next.

Two more touches: positions are matched by what is on the board, not the move order, so transpositions count as the same position; and the opening is named live as you move (for example C70 - Ruy Lopez: Morphy Defense).

➕ Save any position to a flashcard

A new icon on the analysis board turns the position in front of you into a flashcard in one click, automatically named and linked back to the game (for example “Position 14 - vs Magnus”). See a position worth remembering? Save it on the spot.

📊 Your Statistics page

A dedicated insights page: practice history, solve-time trends, and your flashcard review streak, so you can see your training habits at a glance.

📥 Smarter PGN import

Pasting moves now validates them with friendly, highlighted errors instead of a silent failure, and bulk uploads get a review stepper that walks you through any bad games before they are added.

👨‍🏫 A much stronger Classroom (for coaches)

Real-time, multi-chapter classrooms with move-by-move sync, move-evaluation glyph annotations, delete-variation, drills, and save-to-flashcard, all rebuilt on a faster, more reliable foundation.

🔄 Sync your lifetime games (Pro)

Paid plans can now sync their full history from Chess.com and Lichess, not just the recent window. Free accounts sync the last year.

🛠️ And a pile of reliability fixes

Stockfish is steadier on every board, the analysis board no longer chokes on unusual positions, and we smoothed a lot of edges across the practice flows and the classroom.

Head to the Openings tab, click through your lines, and start building. Save a few flashcards from your next analysis. Then open a game review and watch for the markers.
