The day I played for Ukraine

Hello Chess.com. This Sunday I played in a very interesting online blitz (5|2) match. It was between Ukraine and Serbia. My Chess.com friend (and also top blogger) UAArtur (from Ukraine) invited me, he said that the match was going to be tough, and he needed titled players for the fight because Serbia was in a very high level. I had never played in a match between two clubs, so I thought it was a good idea to live this new experience, and at the same time I would be helping a friend. There were GMs and IMs in the first 11 boards. It was an incredible warriors’ battle.

The result was that Ukraine won 95 by 87 (I know it is different in the links, but I think this is the right result). You can find the match games and results here. I am glad I helped to get this victory. I won the two games I played, which I show below with very small comments.

Round 2

Finally, I can say that clubs matches are a good opportunity to have a nice time and play chess with responsibility (you aren’t just playing for yourself; you’re also playing for your team and your teammates).

I want to thank UAArtur for the invitation to the match, and for all the links, pics and ideas he gave me for this post.

And if you think this is going to be helpful for your friends, share it with them.
